2014 Oxbridge Taiwan Science and Technology Symposium

                                                          Call for abstracts

Dear All,

@

Cambridge Taiwanese Society (CTS) is delighted to announce that the 2014 Oxbridge Taiwan Science and Technology Symposium will be held at University of Cambridge on the 21st of June 2014. Co-hosted by CTS and Science &Technology Division of Taipei Representative Office in the UK, the symposium aims to encourage junior researchers from Cambridge and Oxford, such as DPhil/PhD students to share their research findings with their peers from an interdisciplinary point of view. In this perspective, we are welcoming abstracts from all fields of study, including natural sciences, social sciences, humanities and business studies, etc. Proposals should be based on a 15-min presentation followed by a 10-min Q&A. As the purpose of this event resides in the dissemination of research conducted by Taiwanese researchers, the information presented should be geared towards a general audience.

This annual symposium provides Oxbridge students with an invaluable opportunity not only to receive feedbacks on their own academic research, but also, to build bridges of communication between different fields of study. In addition, the event also represents a great networking opportunity between the students of the two leading universities in the United Kingdom, which would provide the chance to substantially broaden the views from both sides.

Abstracts, which should be no longer than 200 words in English, will be selected by the Science and Technology Division of the Taipei Representative Office in the UK, and should be sent along with the application form directly to stdtro@btconnect.com and CC to cts.email@gmail.com.
