Welcome to the Cambridge University Italian Society

The Cambridge University Italian Society focuses on Italy and Italian culture, enjoyment and philosophy of life.  The society was formed in 1998 and has grown from strength to strength; this year’s committee owes a lot to the work of the committees of previous years.

The famous pasta party always goes down extremely well, as does the traditional Italian carnival!  As far as music is concerned, we try to cater for all tastes, so as well as music to dance to at parties, last year's program included a Jazz trio and a piano concert.  Culture is also obviously a priority so our program includes talks by guest speakers, who in the past have included H.E. The Italian Ambassador; journalists such as Beppe Sevegnini (the Italian correspondent for the Economist, regular columnist in Il Corriere della Sera and author of books on Italian and English people) and famous chefs (Gennaro Contaldo from Passione).  Finally, if you want to improve your Italian (or English, if already Italian!) and meet Italians, our regular conversation evenings are always great fun!

People enjoy the relaxed, Italian-style atmosphere at all our events, and we believe you would too!
