“On the Edge” presents the work of fifteen different choreographers, who have each interpreted the show’s central theme. Dance pieces explore diverse themes including: being on the edge of the solar system; the unstable edge of emotions; geometric edges; the edge of self-identity and conflict within the individual; the boundaries between people and relationships; the edge of neurological disease and of normal and abnormal movement; and the edge of society and the choice between conformity and freedom.

Each choreographer has chosen a different dance style to work with, and the variety of movement styles presented in the show includes graceful, balletic dance, African tribal influenced movement, hard-edged and high energy contemporary dance, Capoeira and release technique. Musical styles used include African soul, modern classical, Synth-electro specially composed for the show and Hiphop. Artists whose work features in the show include Nitin Sawhney, Nickelback, The Prodigy, Philip Glass and Leftfield.
