Current classes and workshops

HipHop with TrubL Roc, Mach-1 and SinCru

Persistently testing the body's limitations, SinCru will take you spiralling down memory lane to hi-top fades and pin rolls. SinCru teachers integrate the dance styles of New Jack Swing and Contemporary Hiphop with elements of Poppin' and Breakin' in hi-lighting the complexity of Hiphop. Drawing you back to a time when the only match for the raw dance energy was the swift fingered DJ, feelings of contentment are physically explored using a melange of dance and music. This class is suitable for beginners as well as more experienced dancers.

Dance Conditioning & Contemporary Choreography with Hannah Chalut

Strength and Conditioning will use a variety of deep stretch postures, restorative yoga, and self help reflexology to gain deeper physical awareness and prevent injury.  This will be combined with core strengthening exercises from areas such as pilates and gyrotonic to develop a body that can manage whatever fantastic ideas a choreographer throws at it!  Come prepared for deep work and fun.
Contemporary Choreography will explore a broad palate of dance making techniques in the solo or duet form.  Dreamtime, improvisation, readings, and other methods for generating material will begin the session.  Next concepts of charged space, time bound diagonals, woven relationships, and negative memory will be introduced.  We will reference and utilize master examples such as Doris Humphrey, Jose Limon, Daniel Nagrin, and The Judson Church Group.  Finally, if there is interest, site specific work and/or body ecology will be experimented with.

Contemporary Technique with Victoria Hammond

Victoria leads a Cunningham/release-based class that develops awareness of momentum through space by exploring and focusing on sensation, intention and anatomical principles. Whether you have danced before or are coming at it fresh, Victoria’s contemporary classes are a fantastic way of exploring and challenging your physical potential in a supportive and motivating environment!

Belly Dance with Anji Jackson

This is a fun class for novices and experienced dancers alike, which will provide the opportunity to try out an Arab dance genre known as raqs sharqi, which encourages a celebratory approach to rhythmic movement.

Sevillanas with Azucena Justicia-Diaz

Sevillanas offers a great opportunity to try out some flamenco-style dancing and get a feel for Spanish rhythms. It is an informal and enjoyable class aimed at both sexes - sevillanas is after all a partner dance - which will teach you the moves for any Spanish party you find yourself in! Hard soled shoes (if you have any) and plenty of enthusiasm are the only things you need for this class!

Cuban Salsa

This class offers a great opportunity for dancers of all abilities to learn the great cuban salsa.
