Avenue Q - CUMTS Theatre Trip 2008
...to the web pages of Cambridge University's premier society for musical theatre!
Since 1998 we've been behind the very best musical theatre taking place in Cambridge, presenting shows at a wide variety of venues and providing opportunities for actors, musicians, designers, directors and technicians to work on high-quality and enjoyable productions.
VOCAL WORKSHOP
Saturday 20th February
13:30 - 17:30
Venue TBC
We are delighted to announce that we have procured the services of Felicity Cook, an outstanding Vocal Coach and Singing Teacher, for an exclusive CUMTS workshop on Saturday 20th February.
The event will last from 1.30pm-5.30pm, including a short tea break. Places are strictly limited to 20, so please email Joe Bunker (jehb4) with haste if you are interested in attending! The price of the event has yet to be determined but will be around £10.00, which is an amazing deal for four hours' worth of top-level singing coaching.
The workshop is also handily placed for the Bar Night on the following evening! Any Bar Night performers are strongly encouraged to attend the workshop to have some expert advice on performing their song.
Biog:
Felicity has been working with the voice for over 25 years, having studied at the Royal Academy of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She is currently part of the senior teaching team for the National Youth Choir, with whom she has worked for over ten years. She also works extensively in the Cambridge area, as a private singing teacher and vocal coach, as well as acting as Vocal Consultant for Cambridge chapel choirs, including those of Clare and Trinity College. She has also undertaken an intense 4 year course in Energy Therapy and is an advanced EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) practitioner.
Felicity's work is a synthesis of these varied approaches, combining a strong foundation in classical and traditional music with more experimental and psychospiritual orientations. In her workshop for CUMTS, singers will get the chance to explore the voice and discover new approaches to singing, as well as working on musical theatre material in a performance masterclass.
