Events.

In order to promote community and the Christian faith among Cambridge graduate students, we hold several weekly, fortnightly, and one-off events.

To find out more about our society, please come to our freshers welcome squash! It's on Thursday 13th October 7:30pm in the Junior Parlour Room of Trinity College. We look forward to meeting you!

Weekly Bible Studies.

We run three weekly Bible study groups that meet on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings (usually starting at 7.30pm). These are graduate groups intended to be appropriate both for Christians and for those investigating the Christian faith. The Tuesday group meets north of the city centre in the home of ones of our members, and the Wednesday and Thursday groups meet in Trinity College. Please do invite your friends! Email soc.cgs [at] gmail.com for more information and to be put in contact with someone from whichever group would suit you best.

Calendar.

CGS Connect.

Our core meeting 'CGS Connect' meets as a fellowship of graduate students to encourage and pray for one another, grow in love for God, and learn how to share our faith in our colleges and departments.

  • Connect with other Christian graduate students
  • Pray with each other for Cambridge and the world
  • Encourage one another from scripture and God's work in our lives
  • Grow together as a community of graduates to reach the University for Christ
  • Brunch!
CGS Connect is for all graduate students, not just for those involved in our Bible studies. Please contact Esther Harris (ecsh2@cam.ac.uk) or Feri Wibisono (afw36@cam.ac.uk) for more details.

Come and See Group.

Our Come and See group is for those exploring Christianity. It's for people who wouldn't identify as a Christian and are not sure what they believe. We read a section of the Bible together each week, and ask questions to understand what it means. No background knowledge is necessary. This may be for you, or one of your friends - please feel free to invite people along! Please contact Ben (bjw48) or Bihe (bc407) if you would like more information.

Events for International Students.

CGS also runs events for International Students, including the International Student Welcome at the beginning of the year. This leads onto events like International Food Evenings, Christmas parties, Garden parties and more! This are great things to invite your friends to and offer our community with the hope we have. Please contact Ben (bjw48) or Clara (cal65) for more details.

Leaving Cambridge.

If you are about to leave Cambridge and the CGS, firstly, we'll miss you! Secondly, this document contains details of some resources that may be helpful, particularly to those who are continuing in an academic environment and looking for scholarly Christian community (in addition to joining a local church). You may also wish to join the CGS alumni Facebook group to keep in touch with us and each other.
