Welcome to the Cambridge Graduate Course in Medicine Society

Who are we and what are we all about?

This society is by and for students, staff and alumni associated with the Cambridge Graduate Course in Medicine (CGCM) and the Affiliated Course in Medicine across Hughes Hall, Lucy Cavendish and Wolfson Colleges.

We arrange social events, advise new and potential students to the charms and pitfalls of CGCM life and provide a common forum across College affiliations and years of entry.

In addition, we provide a social hub for the society's members, whether they be current students or alumni.

So how does this fit in with MedSoc and Clinsoc?

MedSoc and Clinsoc are for all Cambridge Pre-clinical and Clinical Students, respectively. The annual preclinical intake is ~280 for the Standard Course with much fewer CGCM students (~20) and even fewer Affiliated Course students. We felt that Graduate students have sightly differing needs and that by setting up our own society we could help meet them, thus complementing MedSoc and Clinsoc.
